Navy Ship Aids Panamanian Vessel

A Virginia-based Navy ship came to the aid of a Panamanian-flagged vessel near Yemen after its crew had a cargo-handling accident. The Winston S. Churchill responded to a distress call Monday.The Navy says one of the Panamanian ship's crew members was killed in the accident and another required advanced medical care.USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG-81)The Winston S. Churchill conducted a medical evaluation, transporting the injured crew member by helicopter to a medical facility in Oman for treatment. The Winston S. Churchill is a guided missile destroyer based at Norfolk Naval Station. It is conducting counter-terrorism and maritime security operations in the Middle East.
